Will Google Now Challenge Apple's Siri?

Earlier this week, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG  ) released an updated version of its search app, Google Now, for Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL  ) iOS. It includes a voice-activated assistant similar to Siri. The development may be the next case of Google undermining native software with an app, as was the case with Maps, or it may be a weak competitor that never gains traction. Ultimately, the type of user interface promises to have many applications, so investors should be anxious to see how the story unfolds.
